At The Work Creative, we believe that true transformation arises from the meeting point of creativity, structured inquiry, and courageous self-awareness.
Our mission is to provide an immersive, evidence-informed space where participants can explore the intersection of music and The Work of Byron Katie, a process that invites deep reflection, emotional honesty, and enduring personal change.
Transformation is not a moment of inspiration; it is a discipline. It requires stillness, courage, and practice. Through the written inquiry process of The Work, supported by creative expression and grounded facilitation, participants learn to meet their minds with clarity and compassion — uncovering the freedom that exists beneath stress and conditioning.
We view creativity not as decoration but as a method of inquiry. Music and artistic process open emotional pathways, allowing participants to access insights that the intellect alone cannot reach. This integration of art and psychology supports a transformation that is both profound and sustainable.

Eimear Crehan
Dr Nadine Ferris France
The Work Creative was founded by Eimear Crehan and Dr Nadine Ferris France, two facilitators with a shared passion for transformation, creativity, and inquiry. Their collaboration brings together decades of experience in music, psychology, global health, and community work — united by a belief that art and self-inquiry can ignite profound personal change.
Eimear Crehan is a musician, life and creativity coach, and community educator with over twenty years of experience in creative facilitation and empowerment. She holds degrees in music, youth and community work, and life coaching, and is the founder of SpeakUp SingOut, a creative education company that helps people rediscover their voice through music and self-expression. At The Work Creative, Eimear designs the musical and creative components of each retreat, guiding participants to explore transformation through sound, reflection, and connection.
Dr Nadine Ferris France is a social entrepreneur, researcher, global health facilitator and life Coach with a PhD from University College Cork and an MSc in Global Health from Trinity College Dublin and over 30 years experience in development work all over the world. Our Approach
Our method blends three core strands: inquiry, creativity and community within a rigorously designed framework for growth and transformation.
-
Central to our work is The Work of Byron Katie, a written reflective process that helps practitioners identify stressful thoughts and question their validity. This method is supported by psychological research into cognitive reframing, self-questioning and mindful awareness.
-
Music and expressive arts are woven throughout the retreat experience as pathways into emotion, awareness and integration. Research in expressive arts therapy demonstrates that creative engagement activates emotional processing and supports neuro-plastic change.
At The Work Creative, participants engage in songwriting, reflective writing and sound-based exercises that complement the cognitive rigour of inquiry. -
We intentionally design our retreats as shared experiential spaces. Working in community allows participants to witness and reflect on one another’s process, fostering empathy, resonance and relational insight. Our facilitators apply trauma-informed practices to ensure emotional safety, inclusivity and empowerment.
Grounded in Research & Practice
Our work draws from and is informed by:
Cognitive inquiry and self-questioning frameworks (including The Work of Byron Katie)
Expressive arts and music therapy research (examining how creative modalities support emotional and neural change)
Trauma-informed facilitation principles (ensuring ethical, safe, and empowering group environments)
Mindfulness and contemplative practice (cultivating present-moment awareness, emotional regulation and internal resilience)
This integration of artistic process and psychological inquiry enables participants not just to experience insights but to embody them—cognitively, somatically and relationally—so the transformation can extend into daily life.
A Note on Integrity
We are committed to ethical facilitation, maintaining the integrity of The Work of Byron Katie and respecting the creative process as a serious form of inquiry. These retreats are not therapy, but rather structured experiential learning environments where participants are invited to take responsibility for their own process, engage honestly and apply what they learn beyond the retreat.
The Work Creative is for those who are ready to slow down, to look inward, to engage with courage and curiosity. Whether you are a creative, a facilitator, a seeker or a professional, if you are ready to explore how music, inquiry and community can support profound change, we welcome you.
